About this event

Video and phone counselling 2.0: advancing your knowledge

This CPD course has been jointly developed by The Open University and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) to support counsellors and psychotherapists in delivering therapy remotely (via video/phone).

It provides research-informed knowledge and support for counsellors and psychotherapists to improve the effectiveness and safety of the counselling and psychotherapy they are offering remotely. Course completion will boost knowledge and confidence and help counsellors and psychotherapists to provide video- and phone-based counselling effectively and safely in their regular practice. The course content is based on and informed by both research on the experience of practitioners during the COVID-19 pandemic and the pre-existing research on online therapy.

This course is designed for counsellors and psychotherapists who have completed their training and are accredited/registered with an appropriate professional body, or are students in training. This course is designed as CPD for those who already have some experience of working remotely and/or have completed online and phone training.

Please note:

In order to make your booking, you will need to choose a specific date which suggests that the course starts on that date at 9am. Please ignore this. Once you are enrolled, the course is open to you for as long as you want and you can start it whenever it is convenient for you.
